Hybrid vs laminate flooring: which suits your Sydney home?
They look almost identical in the showroom, but they behave very differently in a kitchen, a rental or a house with a dog. Here's how to choose.

Measure and check
We visit, measure every room, test moisture and flatness, and look at doorways, stairs and transitions.

Samples and written quote
You see samples in your own light. The quote itemises boards, underlay, preparation, trims and removal.

Preparation
Old floors come up, the subfloor is ground or levelled, and the boards acclimatise where the product needs it.

Install and handover
We lay, trim and finish, clean up, and walk the floor with you. You get care instructions and warranty details in writing.

We'd rather tell you a floor isn't right for your room than fix a problem later. If your slab needs levelling or your stairs need a different nosing, you'll hear it at the quote, not on install day.

Both are real timber. The difference is what's underneath, how they're installed, and how many times you can sand them back.
Common questions
How much does new flooring cost in Sydney?
It depends on the product, the subfloor preparation and the layout. Laminate is usually the most affordable, then hybrid, engineered and solid timber, with herringbone at the top. We give a written, itemised quote after measuring, so you can see exactly where the money goes.
How long does an install take?
A typical three-bedroom home in hybrid or laminate is often done in two to three days. Solid timber that's sanded and coated on site takes longer because of curing time. You'll get a schedule with your quote.
Do you remove old flooring?
Yes. Carpet, tiles, vinyl and old floating floors can be removed and taken away, and it's listed as its own line on the quote.
Do I need to move furniture?
We can move standard furniture for you. Pianos, aquariums and very heavy items need a specialist, and we'll tell you in advance if anything needs arranging.
Which floor is best for pets?
Hybrid and good laminate handle claws and water bowls best. Timber can work too; a matt, textured finish hides scratches far better than gloss.
Can you work in strata buildings?
Yes. We'll check your by-laws for acoustic requirements and supply a compliant underlay or system, and we can provide the product documentation your building manager asks for.
